Chemical hazard: Chemical vapors and condensates deposited in the pump and the oil are harmful, avoid ingestion, inhalation, and skin contact. Wear nitrile gloves, goggles, and a respirator. |
|
Flammability hazard: The residues collected in the binder trapping system and the exhaust of the furnace are flammable. Avoid open sparks or any other ignition sources. |
1. Remove oil mist filter canister from vacuum pump using the fittings at the bottom and back of the canister.
Note: There may be vacuum oil in the canister. Take care while opening any connections, some residue may begin to drip out right away. Clean up any spills with volatile solvent.
2. Unscrew M6 fastener with teflon washer from the oil mist filter top cap and remove the top cap.
3. Unscrew the M10 nut from the oil mist filter with a 17mm wrench and remove the middle sealing plate.
4. Remove the old oil mist filter element from the canister.
5. Clean the top sealing surface indicated below with volatile solvent. Clean middle sealing plate with volatile solvent.
6. Insert the new oil mist filter element. Place the middle sealing plate on top and secure in place with M10 nut. Tighten with wrench 3 turns beyond finger tight (to sufficiently compress filter element and create seal). Place the top cap and secure it with the M6 fastener with Teflon washer.
Note: If you notice the vacuum pump oil level decreasing significantly, try tightening the middle M10 nut to compress the filter element more and create a better seal. If levels continue to decrease, contact support.
7. Reinstall oil mist filter canister on top of vacuum pump and reattach fittings on the bottom and the back of the canister.
